What we collect, why, and who helps us run the site. Last updated October 21, 2026.
Homeschool Texas is a small, independent guide. You can read every page without an account and without giving us anything. We never sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.
When you visit
- Visit counts (Google Analytics). We use Google Analytics to see which pages are read and roughly where visitors come from (city or region level), so we know what's useful. It sets cookies in your browser and Google processes the data under its privacy policy (opens in a new tab). Browser settings or extensions that block it are fine: the site works the same.
- Cloudflare. The site runs on Cloudflare, which handles every request (including your IP address) to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. Cloudflare Web Analytics also counts visits and page speed without cookies. See Cloudflare's privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
- Fonts. The site's fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google sees the request for them.
- Google Calendar. If you open the Google Calendar view on the events page, or use an "Add to Google Calendar" link, that part comes from Google.
When you fill in a form
- The check that you're a person. Each form, and each password page, uses Cloudflare Turnstile to keep spam bots out. It looks at signals from your browser to decide; it doesn't ask for or keep your name.
- Newsletter and curriculum waitlist. Your email address, the regions or curricula you pick, and (for the waitlist) your first name go to Kit, the email service that sends our emails. Kit first sends one email asking you to confirm; nothing else comes until you do. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops all of them. While you sign up, the website also keeps a short note of your email address for up to two days, so a sign-up that gets interrupted can be finished, then deletes it.
- Suggestions. Your suggestion, name and email address are stored on Cloudflare for us. Only Homeschool Texas sees your name and email, and we use them only to ask you about that suggestion. What we publish is the event, group or deal itself, never your details.
- Emailing us. If you write to hello@homeschooltexas.com, we keep the conversation in our mailbox to answer you.
Links to other sites
Every listing and event links to its organizer's own site. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we don't control.
Children
The site is written for parents and other adults. Please don't let children fill in the forms.
Your choices
To unsubscribe, use the link in any email. To ask what we hold about you, or to have a suggestion or sign-up deleted, write to hello@homeschooltexas.com and we'll take care of it.
